Shahrukh Received Honorary Doctorate from UK University


Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan has been given a honorary doctorate in arts and culture by University of Bedfordshire.On July 10th The ceremony was held in London where he received the award at the Hotel Courthouse from Vice Chancellor Les bdon, CBE.

The University of Bedfordshire Deputy Vice Chancellor Ashraf Jawaid was quoted, “We are absolutely delighted to confer this honorary doctorate on Shahrukh Khan. He has made an outstanding contribution to the arts, culture and media which is recognised around the world.”

This is not the first of such honor and award for the 43 year old. Last year December, the Bollywood actor, received the state award conferring the ‘Datuk’ title from Malaysia’s Malacca governor.

Shahrukh started his career in the late 1980s appearing in several television serials. He made his film debut with the commercially successful Deewana in 1992 and since then has gone on to play a variety of critically acclaimed roles.
